COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY Spring 2005

One morning. 16 projects.

On Friday, April 29, the entire student body and faculty of Harrisburg Academy fanned out in the greater Harrisburg area for the first all-school Community Service Day. 

         •  prepared care packages of toys and child items to send to an orphanage in Iraq
         •  conducting a walk-a-thon around City Island to raise
$12,654 for the Ronald 
             McDonald House in Hershey
         •  volunteering at Wildwood Lake Sanctuary, Gifford Pinchot State Park, Ned Smith Center
             for Nature and Art, Capital Area Greenbelt Association, Channels, Salvation Army,
            Bethesda Mission, Central PA Food Bank, PinnacleHealth WomanCare Resource Center,
            Seidle Memorial Nursing Home, Manor Care Nursing Home (Camp Hill), Country Meadows
            Retirement Center (Mechanicsburg), The Jewish Home, and Homeland Nursing Home
