After School

The Extended Day Program (EDP) for children in HATS through fourth grade and the After-School Study Club for Middle School students in fifth through eighth grades are both great ways to safely extend the school day.

EDP provides a positive and meaningful after-school experience for your child through both group and individual activities. Within our flexibly structured program, your child will experience themed projects, recreational and enrichment activities, free time, a nutritious snack, and an occasional age-appropriate movie. Computer, gymnasium, and library access are often available as well. Children who have homework to do are given appropriate encouragement and guidance so that assignments are more easily completed for the next school day.

For this more relaxed part of the day, children are under the watchful eye and nurturing guidance of our EDP teachers, who foster and support independence, cooperation, and problem solving in a safe and caring environment. Parental interaction with the staff enhances our ability to serve your child’s needs. Parents are encouraged to share concerns, suggestions, and observations with staff at pickup time, by note, by phone call, or by dropping in during a portion of EDP.

EDP is in session from school dismissal (2:45 p.m.) until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, on regular school days. Lower School students may stay in EDP at no charge until 3:30 p.m.

EDP may be scheduled in advance or on a drop-in, non-reservation basis. Special Days are a great opportunity to stay connected with friends over holidays and breaks. For Special Days, EDP is available from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. by reservation only at least a week in advance.

EDP is available free of charge without registration for the duration of parent-teacher conferences.

After-School Study Club provides a service to families who need to have a Middle School student remain at school beyond the school day. This option is available without a daily or hourly charge; however, we do charge a $50 registration fee.
