Open Houses
Open houses offer prospective parents and older students the opportunity to meet current parents, students, faculty, the Head of School, and key administrators. During our open house events, prospective families have an opportunity to hear about our academic and extracurricular programs and tour the school. By the end of the program we guarantee that you will understand why our families are so passionate about Harrisburg Academy!  Can't make it to one of our Open Houses? That's still okay – please call our office to schedule a visit during a regular school day.

Admission Testing & Play Dates
Upon our receipt of your child’s application for admission and the teacher evaluation form(s), all prospective students are scheduled for an admission assessment by appointment.

• Applicants for HATS, JK, K, and grade 1 attend a Saturday morning play date session with other applicants.  During the play date, members of our faculty and staff will evaluate readiness for our programs.

• Applicants for grades 2 through 6 are required to spend a full day at Harrisburg Academy to shadow in their current grade and undergo an admission assessment.  The assessment is based on current and future coursework and is administered by a member of our faculty of staff. Prospective students will also be asked to complete a grade-appropriate writing sample.

• Applicants for grades 7 through 12 are required to spend a full day at Harrisburg Academy to shadow in their current grade and undergo an admission assessment. The assessment test includes sections on reading comprehension, and verbal and math skills. Prospective students will also be asked to complete a grade-appropriate writing sample.

Admission Lunch-n-Learns
Admission Lunch-n-Learn forums are informal events designed for parents interested in learning more about Harrisburg Academy. Held on weekdays over an extended lunch hour, this interactive program allows parents to see our school in action, hear about our educational philosophy, meet the division head and the Head of School.  Often, faculty and students are also available to answer questions and interact over lunch.
