International Students
Harrisburg Academy is proud of our tradition of enrolling students from across the globe.  During the past four years, more than 25 students have studied at Harrisburg Academy from countries such as China, Denmark, England, France, Germany, India, Taiwan, and South Korea.  In fact, over the past thirty years, students from more than 80 countries have studied in our Upper School, and many graduate from the Academy to pursue a post-secondary education at a U.S. college or university.

Now that Harrisburg Academy is an International Baccalaureate World School, we expect continued strong enrollment of both international and globally-minded students in our Upper School.  International students interested in studying at Harrisburg Academy should contact the Office of Admission.  The application for admission must be completed by the applicant and his/her parent(s).

In order to study at Harrisburg Academy, international students must be studying through an approved international study program to host their stay in the United States.  The program will facilitate the student finding a host family in our area that speaks English at home. Harrisburg Academy is a member of the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (www.csiet.org) and encourages international students to travel to the U.S. through one of these programs. Additionally, Harrisburg Academy routinely works with the following CSIET-certified programs in placing its tuition-paying international students in our Upper School:

  • American Home Life International www.amhomelife.org
  • International Experience–USAwww.usa.international-experience.net
  • Nacel Open Door                             www.nacelopendoor.org/ipsp
  • Cultural Homestay International               www.chinet.org
  •

International students must complete the admission process (as outlined in this information sheet) and be offered admission in order to be considered for enrollment.  Upon receiving the enrollment contract (signed by the parents) and the enrollment deposit, Harrisburg Academy will provide the I-20 form in order for a student visa to be obtained in the student’s home country.  International students must provide payment in full of tuition prior to the first day of school.
