The Biggest Advantage to Teaching at an Independent School:

Being able to partner with parents and students to achieve a common goal in the best interest of the student.

Why I Love Harrisburg Academy:

The students are the best! They work hard and you develop a relationship that continues even after they graduate.

A Memorable Moment at the Academy:

Because I coached for 18 years, I would have to say that my most memorable moment was the Varsity Girls' basketball team's first District playoff win in 2009.  It was a pretty big stage for the team, playing at Central York High School, and we beat Christian School of York (61-57), a team to which we had lost twice during the regular season. We overcame a 25-point deficit to win, and that experience gave the girls on that team lessons in life that they will never forget...  We went on a RUN to make history!

My Favorite Book:
I have many favorite biographies, so I'll just pick the one I am reading now about Pat Head Summit. Her story reminds us all to value the relationships beyond the wins and losses. She is one of the greatest coaches in women's basketball, but more importantly, she knew where she came from and worked hard to help others.
