Aidan Douglas '17Aidan Douglas ’17 made the transition to Harrisburg Academy as a junior and quickly found his place in the classroom and amongst his teammates.  As a senior, Aidan was the recipient of the Dr. David J. Buckthal Science Award for the student who has demonstrated achievement and a keen interest in science.  He was recognized for excellent lab design and execution, thoughtful problem solving, and strong verbal communication. 


Aidan will continue to use these skills as he majors in biology at Duquesne University, ranked Very Competitive according to Barron’s Profiles of American Colleges.  He plans to take pre-med classes with a focus on neuroscience and psychiatry.  “Psychiatry is a people-oriented job.  You’re helping the actual person and not just fixing something in their body — you’re helping them live their life,” he said. 


Aidan was recognized as a key player on the Varsity Boys’ Soccer team, for which he played striker.  Additionally, he was named most improved player on the Varsity Boys’ Basketball team.  Aidan hopes to play club soccer in college.
