Natural and Applied Sciences

David Fei ’17 is no stranger to international education.  After three years at Harrisburg Academy as an international student from China, David will study natural and applied sciences next year at Keio University in Tokyo, Japan.  Keio is ranked in the top 50 colleges in Asia according to 2017 QS World University Rankings.  David has career aspirations of becoming an actuary.

“I like data and stats,” David said.  “The math and physics classes at the Academy helped me make the choice for my future goals.”  David’s passion for math earned him the Harrisburg Academy Mathematics Award for the Upper School student who demonstrates analytical and theoretical proficiency in all areas of mathematics and its applications.

David began attending Harrisburg Academy in 10th grade, transferring from the Shanghai Jianping High School near his home in Shanghai, China.  He quickly adapted to the Academy community and joined many activities on-campus, including:  Varsity Boys’ Tennis, Varsity Boys’ Soccer, Upper School chorus, Quiz Bowl, Model UN, and Future Business Leaders of America.  David most enjoyed the Ham Radio (amateur radio) club with Mr. Sean Barnes, stating that the activities inspired his imagination in physics and math.
