Jaclyn Tsimmerman

Harrisburg Area Community College
Arts Management

Jackie Tsimmerman '17Harrisburg Academy gave me the opportunity and the courage to pursue something I am passionate about. I hope it continues to encourage the students to elevate themselves artistically in extracurricular activities,” said Jaclyn Tsimmerman ’17. “The art studio has been a safe haven for me — my peers in those classes have grown with me and we’ve developed strong relationships.”

Jackie joined Harrisburg Academy in 7th grade. She quickly became involved in activities, joining the Middle School Basketball and Soccer teams. As she entered Upper School, Jackie continued with the Varsity Girls’ Soccer team, and added Prom Committee, Drama Club, Amnesty International, Yearbook, WACH Global Scholar, Model UN, FLASH Photography Club, Russian Club, Student Council representative, Literary Society, the Insider student newspaper, and Quiz Bowl to her blossoming resume.

After graduating college, Jackie hopes to use her degree in Arts Management give back to her alma mater and the artistic community in Central Pennsylvania. “My plans are to create a space where artists can come together: a space for students and teens to go and do schoolwork and be able to see each other perform, and a place where people can exhibit their art… music, poetry, dance, art.”

Jackie was admitted to State University of New York at Purchase and Pace University, both ranked Competitive by Barron’s Profiles of American Colleges. She will be taking Arts Management classes at Harrisburg Area Community College during the 2017-18 academic year until she decides where to complete her bachelor’s degree.
