Mahnoor Rahat

Elizabethtown College

Mahnoor Rahat '17Noor Rahat ’17 is inspired by her parents, a biology professor and psychiatrist, and plans to study biology at Elizabethtown College, ranked Competitive by Barron’s Profiles of American Colleges. She hopes to go pre-med with career goals of becoming a physician or physician’s assistant.

Noor credits Harrisburg Academy’s college counselor, Keo Oura Sabath, with helping her narrow down her college choices. She confidently declined offers from Hood College, Lebanon Valley College, and Lycoming College, also Competitive colleges, and chose Elizabethtown as her best fit because of its strong biology major and proximity to her family. Additionally, E-town has a unique program for sophomores to transition them from a structured first-year curriculum into more independent programs with research experiences.

Noor has shown a willingness to participate and help others. Her many volunteer positions have included Fredricksen Library, Holy Spirit Hospital, Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center pediatrics department, and Harrisburg Academy. She hopes to join the newspaper and international student associations at Elizabethtown College this fall.
