Summer Camp River Boat Field Trip The Summer Expeditions Day Camp themes for 2018 will be posted in December.  Below were the 2017 summer camp themes for a taste of what is to come!

 

 

Week 1 (June 12-16): A Blast from the Past

We'll kick off our summer with some old-fashioned fun inspired by local Pennsylvania history.

Week 2 (June 19-23): Summertime Friendships

Campers experience friendship and fun while learning to take care of themselves and each other through a variety of positive, age-appropriate activities.

Week 3 (June 26-30): The Science of Fun

Campers discover the science of playgrounds and play with toys and games that illustrate basic scientific principles.

 

6/29:  Whitaker Science Center (www.whitakercenter.org) School Bus

 

Week 4 (July 3-7, closed on July 4th): Keeping it Cool

Take a break from the summer heat to hit the ice and think cool thoughts about winter and the arctic.

 

7/6:  Twin Ponds Ice Skating Rink (You are welcome to send a bicycle helmet for your child to wear.  Skate rental is included, but children may bring their own skates if you prefer). (www.twinponds.com) School Bus

 

Week 5 (July 10-14): Look Up, Look Down, Look All Around!

Campers stop to observe the world around them, with a special focus on astronomy and geology fun facts.

 

7/13:  State Museum of PA (www.statemuseumpa.org) School Bus

 

Week 6 (July 17-21): Where Art Meets the Road

Enjoy stories and activities about art that is on the move, from train grafitti to trendy vehicle design.

7/20:  Susquehanna Art Museum (www.sqart.org) School Bus

 

Week 7 (July 24-28): Out and About

Campers will have fun exploring a variety of local scenic spots.

 

7/25:  Wildwood Lake/Olewine Nature Center (www.wildwoodlake.org) School Bus

7/27:  Indian Echo Caverns (www.indianechocaverns.com) School Bus

7/28:  Oakes Museum of Natural History (www.messiah.edu/Oakes) School Bus

 

Week 8 (July 31-August 4): Water Under the Bridge

Water is a classic part of summer fun -- we'll play and also take a relaxing cruise on the Susquehanna River.

Week 9 (August 7-11): In the Spotlight

We'll treat ourselves to some local children's theater, and then summer camp will wrap up with our own talent show.  This annual favorite is a great opportunity to share an existing talent or try out a new one.
