Camp Themes 2019 - Adventure Seekers Division - FULL for 2019

Summer Camp River Boat Field TripThe Summer Expeditions Day Camp themes for Adventure Seekers are inspired by a different fairy tale each week. Whether the main character is a flighty baked good or a talking animal, each story will lead us to an adventure of fun and friendship!

Adventure Seekers (entering grades 1-6) Sessions Include:
For days when we are not at the pool or on a field trip, our 2019 schedule minimizes downtime by having campers rotate through activity stations that are designed by some of our favorite seasoned teachers. Adventure Seeker topics include:

  • World Cultures As part of our mission to foster global awareness, this year’s themes will be inspired by classic Russian fairy tales and folk art. By the end of the summer, campers may even pick up a few words and phrases.
  • Character Development As part of our focus on engaging the “whole child,” campers will explore Harrisburg Academy’s character trait flags.
  • Writing Workshop This summer, campers will explore the writing process including producing a weekly newsletter to capture their memories and keep grown-ups informed.
  • Arts and Crafts Campers will create classic camp arts and crafts projects as keepsakes of their summer of fun, friendship, and adventure.
  • S.T.E.A.M. Campers will observe the science, technology, engineering, arts, and math connected to each week’s fairy tale.
