Camp Themes 2019 - Early Explorers Division - FULL for 2019

Summer Camp River Boat Field TripOur team of early childhood teachers have designed the Early Explorers summer camp to provide the routine that young children need along with engaging activities that they want.

Each day features a variety of fun, age-appropriate activities related to a coherent theme. Core activities include:

  • Story and craft
  • Choice of small-group stations for fine-motor skills, social development, and dramatic play
  • Gross motor activities and games

During the week, additional highlights include:

  • Swimming pool time on Mondays and Wednesdays (weather permitting)
  • S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics) on Tuesdays
  • Off-campus field trip on Thursdays (except for an in-house field trip on Tuesday, July 2 due to the holiday on July 4.)

In the afternoons, we will offer rest time for children to relax and take a break from the day’s activities. Rest time will last for about 45-50 minutes. Although children do not have to nap, they must be respectful to those around them who are napping. We ask that you send an all-in-one nap mat that your child can easily roll up, fasten, and put away independently. We are very limited on storage space, so please do not send in sleeping bags, large blankets, or separate pillows. Children can bring a small stuffed animal to use during rest time. Please label all rest items with your child’s first and last name.
