Safety Plan

Committed to offering you real school, real instruction, five days a week.

Given the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic, our Pandemic Response Team has updated our policies for the 2022-23 school year. As we move toward a more endemic state with the virus, we continue to make every effort and take every precaution to keep our school community safe and healthy. Our current policies for the 2022-23 school year are listed below.

List of 8 items.

  • Quarantine

Quarantine for exposure to COVID-19 is no longer required, however, if an individual has a known exposure to the virus, they must wear a mask while on campus for 10 days, regardless of vaccination status.
  • Isolation

Isolation is required for at least five days after receiving a positive test result. Please note, day 0 is the day the test result is received if asymptomatic, OR the first day of symptom onset. Day 1 is the first full day after being tested OR the first full day after symptoms start.
  • Return after Quarantine/Isolation

Upon return to campus, all members of our community must report to Nurse Catherman to be cleared to attend classes or after-school activities. Those returning to campus after a positive test result are asked to wear a mask for five days after their return.
  • Communications Policies

Case counts within the community will be added to our Pandemic Response Resource Board daily, no later than 5 p.m.
  • Masks

All members of our community may choose whether they will wear a mask while on campus. Harrisburg Academy allows masks to be optional when community level rates are low or medium in Cumberland County as listed by the CDC’s COVID-19 County Check.

Individuals with a known exposure to COVID-19 must follow the CDC's guidelines and wear a mask for 10 days following exposure, regardless of vaccination status.
  • Field Trips & Events

To strengthen students' learning experiences and build community relationships, Harrisburg Academy's policies allow for field trips approved by the appropriate division director, learning celebrations and parent/guardian conferences, as well as community, admissions, and development events.
  • Vaccination

Although not a requirement for attendance, Harrisburg Academy’s Pandemic Response Team joins our Physicians’ Advisory Council and the CDC to encourage all eligible students and community members to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • Visitor Policy

Currently, visitors are permitted on campus during the school day. During their time on-campus, visitors must be accompanied by a faculty or staff member. Guests may not be in the building unaccompanied.
“One thing I can say for sure is how amazing our Harrisburg Academy community has been through it all. We are super impressed with the smooth transition to distance-learning. The teachers have all been positive and helpful in making our children and parents feel comfortable as well.”
