  • Our focus is each individual child.

In every division from Early Childhood through Upper School, we seek to know each child — his or her motivations, passions, and aspirations. To that end, our focus has to be, and is, on the “whole child” and his or her academic, emotional, and social development. By understanding who each child is, we are best able to attune our instruction to help each child become more analytical, creative and innovative, and most importantly, to think critically.

Diversity Statement

Our approach to diversity is simple: it’s about embracing everyone. Together with students, faculty, staff, administrators, families, alumni, and the entire Academy community, we fully embrace a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and belonging. For the 2023-2024 school year, 37% of Harrisburg Academy students identify as Black/African American, Latinx/Hispanic, Asian, Native American, Pacific Islander, Middle Eastern, or two or more races. We have an active International student program and many of our students speak more than one language in their home and family environment. We are proud to foster an inclusive, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural environment that celebrates and teaches the importance of acceptance, diversity and educational opportunities to explore every person, every culture, and every family, with exploration and respect. That is what connects us and makes us an Academy Community.
