The 1784 Society

Harrisburg Academy was founded in a small room along the shores of the Susquehanna River in the year 1784. Harrisburg Academy is the 17th oldest independent school in the nation and remains the greater metropolitan Harrisburg area's only independent, non-sectarian, co-educational day school serving students from age three to twelfth grade.

The 1784 Society honors the Academy’s rich heritage and philosophy of developing character through academic excellence for the past 239 years. As we look to the future, we hope you will consider becoming a Leadership Donor and join The 1784 Society by making a gift at one of the levels highlighted below.

Membership to the 1784 Society extends to a donor who pledges to make the below-dollar commitment to be paid over the course of three years:

       Founders' Society:  $21,000
       Front Street Society:  $15,000
       Susquehanna Society:  $9,000

Donors will be recognized in our Annual Report, in our alumni magazine, on our school website, invited to a Head of School dinner, and included in an exclusive donor reception where they will be recognized for their support.
